Today is my parents 61st wedding anniversary, they are Jack and Doris Venekamp of Spearfish, SD. My Dad is 83 and my Mom 80. I would like to say to the world that both are very healthy. My Dad is a vet of WWII, they raised 5 children. Slow down, give a flower, a kiss, a hug...that will keep u healthier than anything.

Cell Phone Battery Fire

I awoke at 12:24am Sunday June 14 2009; I turned to look at the television and noticed a haze in front of the screen. I then got up from bed and walked toward the television and I immediately inhaled a large amount of smoke and became concerned. I then turned the light on to find my bedroom filled with smoke. I looked around and noticed that my Samsung T-329 Cell phone had just stopped flaming and that a large amount of white smoke was coming out of the back of the cell phone.

Lightning strikes 100 foot tree

Lightning hit this tree, exploding a foot and a half foot wide strip down about 40 feet of the tree. Broke window at apartment and I found a 10lb piece of wood over 60 feet away. My son was home, says it sounded like a bomb. Alex took this picture.

Racoon On the Line

There's a raccoon on our wooden electrical line. We have 2 neighbors behind us who have mean dogs, so we can't let the raccoon down. We've called many people to come out here, but no one will.
